The Martin Luther King, Jr. Humanities building is the center and venue of Communication Week (Comm Week) hosted annually by the School of Communication.  Our fast-paced academic symposium brings together leading innovators in the media, music, and film industries. Renowned journalists, entrepreneurs, content creators, influencers, scholars, and television and radio personalities shared their real-world knowledge and perspectives with participants who were mainly students. The purpose of the conference, according to SOC’s Interim Dean, Professor Chris Ulasi, is “to showcase the fundamentals of education in journalism, speech communication, media, radio/television/film, entertainment, and recording careers.”

The School of Communication (SOC) is a transformational, interdisciplinary academic college with four departments and a graduate program: Communication Studies; Entertainment Recording Industry Management (ERIM); Journalism; Radio, Television, and Film (RTF); and Master of Arts (MA) in Communication and Master of Arts (MA) in Professional Communication and Digital Media (PCDM).
